Learning English, One Moment at a Time
He didn’t start learning English because he was good at it. In fact, for a long time, English felt confusing and distant. Words looked familiar, but their meanings slipped away the moment he tried to understand them.
Every day, he listened. On the train, at home, late at night. Sometimes he understood nothing. Sometimes just one sentence stayed in his mind.
One evening, he heard a simple phrase: I have time. He didn’t translate it. He didn’t explain it in his head. He simply let the sound stay with him.
Slowly, something changed. The phrase began to feel real. It wasn’t about “having” in a dictionary sense. It was about holding a moment, right now.
That was when he realized something important. English was not something to fight with. It was something to experience.
He stopped chasing perfect understanding. Instead, he paid attention to small details: how words connected, how meanings shifted, how feelings appeared before translations.
Some days were still difficult. But even on those days, he knew he was moving forward. Not fast, but honestly.
Learning a language was not about reaching a goal. It was about noticing moments. And today, once again, he noticed one.
— End —
